The HIPAA Privacy Rule
This course provides an overview of the HIPAA Privacy Rule. It also explains the general rules for the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA. Learners will gain an understanding of the Minimum Necessary Rule and requirements for authorizations, as well as instances when PHI may be disclosed without authorization. It also presents requirements relating to Notices of Privacy Practices, accounting for disclosures, requests for restrictions, and other provisions of the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
